How it works
The conversion is straightforward multiplication:
Annual Salary = Hourly Wage × Hours per Week × Weeks per Year
- Standard full-time baseline: 40 hours/week × 52 weeks = 2,080 hours/year
- Monthly = annual ÷ 12 · Weekly = hourly × hours/week · Daily = weekly ÷ 5
- Reverse: hourly = annual salary ÷ total yearly hours
Example
At $25/hour on a standard 40-hour week, 52 weeks a year:
- Annual: $52,000 · Monthly: $4,333.33 · Weekly: $1,000 · Daily: $200
- In reverse, a $52,000 salary over 2,080 hours = $25/hour
What this calculator does not include
This is gross pay before taxes, insurance, retirement contributions, and other deductions. Overtime (often 1.5× after 40 hours in the US), bonuses, and tips are not modeled — enter an adjusted hourly rate if those are significant.
FAQ
How do I convert hourly wage to annual salary?
Multiply your hourly rate by hours worked per week, then by weeks worked per year. The standard full-time assumption is 40 hours × 52 weeks = 2,080 hours, so $25/hour equals $52,000 per year.
What is $25 an hour annually?
At 40 hours per week and 52 weeks per year, $25/hour is $52,000 per year, about $4,333 per month, $1,000 per week, or $200 per day.
Should I use 52 weeks if I take unpaid vacation?
No. If you take two unpaid weeks off, use 50 weeks instead. Salaried employees who still get paid during vacation can keep 52. Adjust the weeks field to match your real paid time.
